Nose bleed treatment

1. Sit the casualty down with the head forward

    Tell the casualty to breath through his mouth and to pinch his nose just below the bridge

    Tell him not to talk, swallow, sniff or spit

2. After 10 minutes release the pressure on the nose

    If the nose continues to bleed then reapply the pressure for a further 10 minutes

    If the nosebleed persists beyond 30 minutes then send the casualty to hospital
