First Aid at Work Initial (3 days)

The First Aid at Work (statutory) course complies with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.   Successful students receive certificates to show that they are qualified to be First Aiders in the Workplace for the next three years. First Aid at Work ReQualification (2 days)

The First Aid at Work Re-qualification course complies with the current Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.   To qualify to attend a FAW re-qualification course candidates must still hold an in-date FAW certificate. Upon completion of the course successful candidates receive certificates to show that they are qualified to be First Aiders in the workplace for the next three years. Course length: 2 days Candidates should wear suitable attire that will allow ease of movement as a lot of the practical sessions are performed from floor level. EFAW and FAW Refresher (1/2 day)

1st April 2015

Although an annual refresher is not a legal requirement, the HSE strongly recommends that First Aiders undertake annual refresher training within any three-year certification period of First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work. The First aid refresher course is suitable for those who hold a current FAW and EFAW qualification. Course content; assess the situation in an emergency; treating a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure); cardiopulmonary resuscitation; providing first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding; treating a casualty who is suffering from shock
