CPR and AED Course

The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED Course teaches participants how to provide emergency care to a person suffering from cardiac arrest. The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development; skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to provide care when emergency situations arise.

  • Scene Safety Assessment
  • Universal Precautions
  • Primary Assessment
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • rescue Breathing
  • Conscious and Unconscious Obstructed Airway Management

Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

The use of Automated External Defibrillators(AED)by trained lay first responders

  • CPR before defibrillation
  • Sequence of actions when using an AED
  • Placement of AED pads
  • Voice prompts

Course Duration
1/2 day usually 9.00am – 12.30pm

Course size
Maximum course size 12 people.

Assessment
A multiple-choice question paper and Knowledge Review

Certificate

Certificates are provided on successful completion of the course.
